Flipping the Furniture

Project Overview:

Sometimes just because you’ve had it that way for a long time, doesn’t mean that it has to stay that way.  This master bedroom in Montclair, NJ needed a complete makeover.  The homeowner’s taste had changed completely since they decorated last and she couldn’t put her finger on what didn’t quite work in this fairly large room.  We started off by completely flipping the furniture layout to place the bed across from the entry to the room. She now sees her beautiful custom upholstered bed upon entering.  We also removed the never-used sliding glass doors and replaced them with large windows to preserve the view while making her feel more comfortable and secure at night.  Our client is avid needle point aficionado, so we took inspiration for color from the adorable accent pillows she had made for herself.  We updated the look with a transitional feel.  Just enough detail to make it interesting, but more of a contemporary take. In our client’s words, we have “changed her life for the better…” and we couldn’t be more pleased that she is so happy!
