The Dishwasher Renovation

Location: Livingston, NJ

Project Overview:

A kitchen renovation was the result of damage from a flood caused by a faulty valve in the homeowner’s dishwasher that sent hot water spewing throughout the space ruining base cabinets and the hardwood floors in this Livingston, NJ home.  But out of tragedy comes good fortune.  The well used kitchen wasn’t one of this homeowner’s favorite spaces.  Hasty decisions with tile and color as well of years of use by this active family of 6 had left the room needing a facelift.  In addition to new flooring, appliances, cabinets, island, tile and counters, we now had the opportunity to tweak the layout a bit.  The old cooktop was in the corner but it created a deep area behind which was a haven for dust and grease.  We created an angled wall and included a niche for bottles and spices.  The island was lengthened to accommodate 4 chairs for the kids.  New lighting and custom window treatments and custom finished furniture completed the new kitchen look.
