A Daughter’s Gift

Project Overview:

The homeowner’s college age daughter’s room was due for an update.  While she was away at school we got to work making it a french inspired elegant adult space for her to come home to.  We borrowed an area rug from another room in the house that set the tone for the color and feel of the furnishings.  We had our faux painter remove the doors off of the antique brown wood cabinet which we then painted a beautiful cream color and highlighted the applied trim and interior with gold paint.  The vanity and stool also was refreshed and guilded bringing out it’s unique details.  The cloth covered side table was removed and replaced with adorable mirrored nightstands topped with updated lamps with contemporary gold shades.  We created custom bedding and window treatments along with a new upholstered headboard and reupholstered chairs and ottoman for this space.  The layout of the study area located in the round turret section of the room was changed to give it a lighter, open feel and hide some of the clutter that can come with bookshelves and a well used desk.  French photographs and art were the perfect finishing touches.  What a loving and kind gift for this young lady from her adoring mom!
